Glebe Field Riding School and Equestrian Centre is an approved City and Guilds training centre for NPTC Level 2 Diploma in horsecare for under 16s. Several schools are currently involved in this scheme and send students to us two days per week over a two year period, the students vary greatly in their riding ability and some have never ridden before. We are currently looking into funding this award for home schooled children.
We also offer NPTC Level 2 Diploma post 16 apprenticeship. Students applying for this course need to be working with horses for 30 hours per week and come into us for one or two days per week depending on circumstances. This is a one year Government funded award, but it can also be achieved privately for those who would like to complete the diploma without the 30 hours per week work or have already had Government money for a N.V.Q. or a NPTC apprenticeship.

“Learners in equine studies receive particularly good training and coaching. Assessors carefully plan training sessions and they use questioning well to encourage learners to find solutions. Outcomes are good in equine studies, with success rates above national averages for such provision”.
